![]() ![]() So, if anyone out there has tried & given up with Severance on their modern rigs, keep trying. Still pretty awkward navigating around the menus but better than it was. I fixed this (sort of) by replacing menu.jpg with a transparent. ![]() Only problem is with the menu screens in D3d which are kinda obscured by the menu background (worked fine in OpenGL). Kept crashing with a strange out of memory message.įor some reason I tried it again in D3d and this time it worked with an added bonus of no mouse issues whatsoever. The mouse action was pretty horrendous and very frustrating until I upped the polling rate to max.Īfter the 1st section of the game I couldn't get it to load the next bit I wanted to play: Mines of Kelbregen. I managed to get it working in OpenGL mode but D3d mode still didn't wanna know. The game’s main selling points were its hand-to-hand fighting mechanics and jaw-dropping shadow effects. Running v1.01 + OpenGL raster Version Alpha 2 + USA Patch After four years in development and getting passed through two or three publishers, it’s almost a miracle that Blade of Darkness (a.k.a, Severance) ever saw the light of store shelves. If anyone's interested this is how I patched it etc: Thought I'd never be able to run this again. Finally managed, after much tinkering, to get this fantastic game to run on my system ![]()
